Kirsty Gilmour’s Ahmedabad Smash Masters finished their group campaign with two losses, but despite losing both her matches Gilmour showed she is more than capable of competing with the best.

On 4 January against the Awadhe Warriors Gilmour was first up for the Smash Masters, facing world No. 10 Beiwin Zhang.

Although the Scot took first blood, the American won the match 10-15 15-11 15-11 as the Warriors won all five matches to record a (-1) – 6 score line.

Two days later the Smash Masters lost out 4-3 to the Hyderabad Hunters.

Gilmour lost once again, but she pushed world No. 3 PV Sindhu all the way before the Indian squeaked through 15-14 12-15 15-14.
