Travers leads the way in Poland

Dan Travers was on the podium at the BWF World Senior Championships on three separate occasions in Poland last week. Including one being a gold medal.

Last week brought success for a number of Scottish representatives at the BWF World Senior Championships in Katowice, Poland.

There were several podium places for Scottish players while Dan Travers/Jesper Helledie managed to win Gold in their category of Men’s Doubles.

Podium presence for Scotland

Travers and his Danish men’s doubles partner Jesper Helledie won Gold in the (60) category, managing to win against an all Danish pair, Per Juul/Birger Steenberg.

Elsewhere, there was Silver medals for Dan Travers in his singles category, as well as Travers again in his mixed doubles partnership with Christine Black. The pair won silver after reaching the final of the tournament but unfortunately lost to Ian M Purton/Christine M Crossley from England.

 

Mark Mackay/Lars Klintrup won bronze after reaching the semi-finals in Poland while Lynne Campbell/Majken Asmussen also won Bronze in women’s doubles.
