Scottish International Championship

The 2012 Scottish International Championships will be held from 21 - 25 November 2012 at the brand new Commonwealth Arena in Dalmarnock, Glasgow. It will be one of the first events to be staged at the new Commonwealth Arena.

The five-day event is the the third oldest event in the international badminton calendar and it is the number 1 tournament on the Badminton Europe circuit.

BADMINTONscotland are looking for volunteers to work in the many departments that go towards the smooth running of this major sporting event. Openings are available for volunteers in line judging, stewarding, driving or organising transport, match control, hospitality and for hosts and hostesses and much more.

Linesperson

Line judging for matches (previous badminton knowledge preferred)

Information Desk

Selling tickets and BADMINTONscotland merchandise. Welcoming spectators

Hospitality

Providing refreshments for guests

Driver *

Driving players and officials from airports to hotels and from hotels to venue

Steward

Assisting spectators with directions/Event support

Office Admin

Assisting BADMINTONscotland office with all aspects of tournament preparation and media assistance

Hostess

Meet and greet players and officials/assist with queries at hotels, venue, ceremonials and functions

Physio

Tournament physioís required

Arena Team

Setting up management of courts ñ prior to and during event

Match Control

Prepare match boards, scoring and shuttles

Interpreters

Foreign language speakers required for some foreign teams

Carnival Coach

Assist the qualified coaches with delivery of the childrens carnival activities.
