Robert Blair's bid to reach the main draw of the Li Ning Singapore Open was dashed today in his qualifying final.
The Edinburgh player and Malaysian partner Tan Bin Shen won their opener in impressive manner 21-15 21-13 against Singapore's Hendri Saputra Kurniawan and Hendra Wijaya.
But Blair, the only British player in the draw, went down in the second round 21-19 21-19 against Singapore's Ronald Susilo and Candra Wijaya despite having led 19-17 in the first game and 15-12 in the second.
With GB players now focusing on preparations for London 2012, the next tournaments on the international circuit are the Yonex Orange County BC US Open and the Yonex Canada Open in the first half of July.
The next tournament on the OSIM BWF World Superseries is the Li Ning China Masters in Shanghai in mid-September.
