BADMINTONscotland has a number of resources and coaching modules to support the delivery of badminton in Secondary Schools. This support includes various resource materials and DVD’s as well as S1-S4, Higher Skills and Techniques/Structures and Strategies coaching sessions. We also offer support to schools running Sports Leaders UK courses through our 6-hour Badminton Basics Leadership Course.
S1-S4 Coaching Sessions
This 2-hour coaching module covers content from the S1-S4 Coaching Manual and can be delivered in schools. Pupils in the S1-S4 age range will be taken through practices to develop grips, movements, feeding skills and hitting techniques while working in pairs and small groups. To organise an S1-S4 coaching session in your school please contact John Shearer using the details provided below.

Intermediate/Higher PE Coaching Sessions
Each year BADMINTONscotland provide support to pupils studying Intermediate and Higher Physical Education. Schools are given the opportunity to attend a 2-hour practical module in Glasgow which covers content from BADMINTONscotland’s Skills and Techniques Coaching Manual. The sessions provide pupils with ideas and information on how to develop a block of progressive coaching sessions to develop an overhead stroke.
The coaching module has been created with guidance from Secondary PE teachers, which is reflected in the language and practices used throughout the sessions that link directly to the Intermediate and Higher PE Courses.
Dates for the 2013 Intermediate/Higher PE Coaching sessions will be confirmed in June 2013. Where tutors are available we are also able to offer in-school deliveries. For more information on this and for costings please contact John Shearer
For more information on BADMINTONscotland’s Secondary Teaching resources please visit the ‘School Resources’ section of the website. If you have an enquiry relating to any of the above coaching modules please contact John Shearer
