Blair & Bankier over first hurdle in Thailand

ROBERT Blair and Imogen Bankier are through to the second round of the mixed doubles at the Thailand Grand Prix Gold event in Bangkok.

The Bank of Scotland Centenary Scottish International champions won their opening clash with Indonesia's Devn Lahardi Fitriawan and Lita Nurlita of Indonesia 21-19 21-14.

In tomorrow's second round the sixth seeds face Malaysian pair Mohd Razif Abdul Latif and Chong Sook Chin.

Bankier, the 20-year-old from Glasgow, also starts her women's doubles bid tomorrow with England's Suzanne Rayappan when they face fifth seeds Jiang Yanmei and Li Yujia of Indonsia.
