Welcome to our new and improved events section!

We have updated our calendar of events to be more comprehensive, so that it now includes details on upcoming coach education and youth development activities and courses, along with info on all your favourite tournaments and competitions. It is colour coded to show Coach Education courses in green, Youth Development activities in blue and Tournaments in pink.

The new calendar gives an overall monthly calendar view, as well as listing tournaments and events in monthly, weekly and daily views. It also features a new option to search for a specific tournament or event ñ just type in the name of the event and our system will search the calendar for details. Once you have found the event you are looking for, just click on the title to view further information on times, venues and contact details.

Season 2008/2009 promises to be another great season. The tournament season kicks off at the end of August with the 26th Bank of Scotland Badminton Bonanza, to be held at National centre, Inverclyde, from 30-31 August.

After that itís off to various locations around the country, including Perth for the Yonex National Championships (30 January ñ 1 February 2009) and of course the Bank of Scotland International Championships at Glasgowís Kelvin Hall in November. After the success of last years Centenary event, this years International Championships will again be held over 5 days, from Wednesday 19 to Sunday 23 November 2008.

There promises to be more coaching and development activities than ever before. The roll out of the new UKCC coaching courses will keep everyone on their toes and there are a number of Coach Workshop/CPD opportunities already on offer for the season ahead.

On the development side the Bank of Scotland Carnivals and Sportshall Challenges, and the holiday camps and badminton into schools programmes will ensure plenty of children have the opportunity to try this great sport of ours.
