Level 2 UKCC Certificate in Coaching Badminton

The course is made up of one full weekend, a third day and an assessment half day spread over a period of at least 7 weeks.


Guidelines for UKCC Level 2 Course Organisers: Facilities/Resources

Any training or assessment site must complete a BADMINTONscotland site checklist and meet the requirements of accepted safe practice in Badminton, detailed in the relevant Badminton publications and provide the following environment and equipment outlined below.

 Training and/or assessment sites must provide, or have access to:

-         two badminton courts, well maintained posts, nets and any other equipment required to facilitate the   
          delivery of the qualification
-         suitable seating and ideally a classroom environment
-         cafeteria facilities or the means to provide refreshments
-         toilets and changing facilities

 Additionally, it is required that there will be no adjacent distractions, e.g. aerobics, basketball and football and, most important, no music.

 A group of 8 children must be organised for the final assessment day by the course organisers.

 Candidate Prerequisites:
Candidates are required to

    * be at least 18 years of age
    * hold the Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Badminton OR [hold the BADMINTONscotland Instructors Award or
      BADMINTON England Level 1 or the Welsh Badminton Union Leaders Award, and have provided additional   
      evidence of competence to the standards of the Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Badminton, (completion of the
      Bridging Pack, provided before the start of the course). 

Note:

Candidates are expected to complete the stated pre-course reading and practical exercises prior attending for the delivered content of the course. Failure to do so may limit the ability of candidates to successfully complete the course and obtain the qualification.  Candidates with specific needs who may have difficulty meeting any of the pre-requisites for the qualification or requirements of the course should inform the course organiser  who will try to ensure reasonable adjustment to delivery/assessment strategies will be formulated. It is strongly recommended that candidates have appropriate insurance cover before undertaking any independent coaching practice.

Personal Clothing and Equipment

    *  Candidates should wear non-marking trainers/court shoes, shorts/sports-skirt/tracksuit bottoms, T-shirt/polo-
        shirt.
    * Candidate should bring with them a badminton racket
