Senior Team Selection Criteria

Teams will be selected according to the following priorities :

1. Athletes who are identified as having the potential to win medals or matches at the event in question.
2. †Where a full team cannot be selected from category 1, they should look to athletes who are identified as having the potential to win medals or matches in the foreseeable future.
3. †Where a full team cannot be selected from categories 1 and 2, the strongest available player should be selected.

Selection Criteria

Head Coach selects cell members based on the following eligibility:

• Existing places available to players deemed to have potential to show commitment, attitude and performance levels required to work towards gaining selection to National teams.
• Players who support Domestic Scottish Tournaments
• Current National Junior Squad invitees will not be eligible for selection until they are no longer eligible for U19 National Junior Squad.

Squad Requirements

1.         Squad Places Available (6 month invite)

• Squad shall have maximum of 11/12 permanent players
• 1 rotational guest spot on 6 week invite may be offered if 11 permanent places are allocated.

2.         Squad Members are required to compete* at:

• National under 23 (if appropriate) and Senior Nationals
• Scottish International
• Minimum 3 out of 4 Domestic Events ( Dunfermline, East of Scotland, West of Scotland & Glasgow)

*subject to extenuating circumstances.

The Squad

3 hours of courts for Games/squad activities on Tuesday evening’s at Scotstoun
1 hour free court time, 2 hours coached time

Proposal of £5 per night cost paid up front in 3 month block with athletes to bring two tubes of new shuttles each at the start of the block.
