Badminton Scotland Centenary Year

2011 is a particularly special year for BADMINTONscotland as it marks the Centenary of the formation of the Scottish Badminton Union. Casey suffers defeat in Russia

Alistair CaseyAlistair Casey suffered defeat in a tight three set match at the hands of Russian Nikolay Ukk today, in the second round of the 2009 White Night International in St Petersburg.

The fourth seed won the first end 21-19, but ended up suffering a 21-12 21-12 reverse in the final two sets.

Casey had got off to the perfect start yesterday, beating another Russian player, Vyachelav Turchak, 21-0 21-3 in the first round of the men’s singles.

He will now travel down under to compete in the Australian Open from 23-26 July.
