A group of National Squad Under 13 players were in action on Saturday in a friendly event against Ulster and England’s team Forza. The friendly event was organised to give these young players the experience of playing in a team event, getting feedback from the coaches and getting the opportunity to play some different players from Ireland and England.

The day started off with Ulster playing England, with the English team coming out on top. However, there were some really close 3 set games.

The Scottish players proved to be too strong for Ulster only loosing a few games out of the 24 played. However some of the wins were really good games and closer than the final match score reflects.

The English game proved to be much closer with several 3 set games going the way of both teams. The tie ended 12-10 to the Scottish youngsters, but unfortunately time was tight and 4 of the mixed doubles were not played.

It was a great day enjoyed by all the teams and parents who were there watching. The coaches for the day were: Head Coach, Jill O’Neil, assisted by David Johnston and Jamie Neill.
